Step-by-step to generate great visuals using Midjourney prompts.
Want to create stunning images with just a few words? Midjourney is one of the most powerful tools for AI-generated visuals. Whether you’re a designer, creator, or just curious, this guide walks you through the basics — from joining the server to crafting better prompts.
To use Midjourney, you need a paid subscription.
Go to midjourney.com and click “Subscribe” to choose a plan and sign up.
🧭 Note: You can use Midjourney via the website or Discord, but this guide focuses on midjourney.com — the easiest and most complete option for most users.
Once logged in, click “Create” in the top menu.
This is where you’ll enter your prompts and generate images.
You’ll see a familiar, chat-style interface with a prompt box at the top.
Use natural language to describe the image you want.
Example:
a glowing forest with bioluminescent plants, cinematic lighting, fantasy style
Midjourney will generate 4 image variations within seconds.
Click on your favorite image from the grid to see more options:
🎨 Vary – Generate similar versions
⬆️ Upscale – Sharpen and enlarge
🛠️ Edit – Modify the original prompt
You can also experiment with animation, zoom, or other advanced tools.
Click the upscaled image to open it full screen.
Then right-click to save or copy the image for use.
You’ll find all your creations neatly organized under the “Organize” tab.
Want more control? Try adding extra details:
• Style cues: in watercolor style, 3D render
• Camera angles: wide shot, macro
• Mood: moody, dreamy, dark fantasy
• Aspect ratio: --ar 16:9 or --ar 3:2
✨ Prompting is a skill — the more specific and visual your prompt, the better the output.
a futuristic Tokyo street at night, neon lights, rain-slicked, in anime style --ar 16:9
